Disposable Humans - 2008
This series illustrates humans as disposable, insignificant, and no longer individualistic. With all the war in the world, I feel this is how our politicians and specifically Americans think. "Just keep sending troops till we finish the job". It's funny almost, we watch these movies about aliens, meteors and robots threatening the existence of man kind, but when the biggest threat is our own kind. Humans have been killing humans as far as history of goes back. We all have enough food, water, medicine and technology to required no competition amongst each other and to live in harmony, yet we just can't seem to do that. We're advanced scientifically, but still a barbaric species. We step on bee's and burn ants with a magnifying glass, but these are the "insignificant" animals who do live in harmony and we should be learning from.
Living Landscapes - 2008
This series shows a visual correlation of the human form to that of a landscape. I find the earth's geographical features and the natural human form to be two God's most beautiful creations. Much like the body, I believe the earth to be a living being. Americans are so often labeled as wasteful, polluting, obese and lazy. Things which are harmful to ourselves and the landscapes around us. Often overlooked and somehow disregarded as important, the human body and the planet both require a large deal of respect and care and are essential not only for the enjoyment of our everyday recreational activities, but for our mere survival. The images below contain up close nude figures. If you're offended by nudity or the human portrayed as a recreational landscape, please do not continue.
